July 23, 2008 (Computerworld) At Intel Corp., just passing its 40th anniversary and with myriad chips in its historical roster, a top company exec looks 40 years into the future to a time when human intelligence and machine intelligence have begun to merge.

Justin Rattner, CTO and a senior fellow at Intel, told Computerworld that perhaps as early as 2012 we’ll see the lines between human and machine intelligence begin to blur. Nanoscale chips or machines will move through our bodies, fixing deteriorating organs or unclogging arteries. I just ordered another product from one of those self-proclaimed “Internet gurus.” He got me. Either I’m gullible or he’s irresistible. Judging from his pics, I believe it is the former.

You see, I just love a good product (I guess I love a good sales pitch too). I like to know what’s out there so I can stay in the loop on Internet marketing-don’t you? I hate to be the last to know something. It’s like being the last to get an obvious funny joke or the last to get picked from a bunch of losers for a softball team. I just don’t want to be the last person to learn, or get anything.

Well, just a few days later, I get another email from the same “guru”, but it’s for a different product-one that is not even his! You see when you buy anything from one “guru”, you’re automatically put into rotation into every joint venture that “guru” has ever done or ever will do. I kind of liken it to the drunken girl that gets passed around at a fraternity keg party. Bad example I know, but you get the point.
