They make quiet computer mice and have two models to choose from. Both models are USB with PS/2 a adaptor included, and both are Windows, Mac, and Linux compatible.
The QuietSmooth USB mouse features a classic design and standard size. All three switches (right, left, and scroll wheel switch) on this model are quiet.
The QuietSmooth L model features a slightly higher arch across the top and has a very natural comfortable feel.  The sides have a nice smooth rubber-like texture for better grip. The left and right switches are quiet, and rolling the scroll wheel is quiet. The scroll wheel switch does make a click noise when pressed.  The L model is a great choice if you do not regularly use the wheel switch.
The clicking noise you hear in a computer mouse comes from the electrical micro switch used in the mouse. The micro switches used in our QuietSmooth mice are a unique patented quiet design. With each press of the mouse you actually feel the click without all the noise. Quiet Mouse Innovations is the only manufacturer licensed to use this patented technology. Other quiet mice manufacturers use an elastomeric dome switch, the same type of switch commonly found in TV remote controls. They are quiet, but lack that classic “clicky” feel.
You do not have to retire your traditional mouse to use a quiet mouse.  Most computers will accommodate more than one mouse. Adding a QuietSmooth mouse to your computer gives you the option to go from noisy to quiet whenever you want.
